Business Case: WiFi in hotel business center
The hotel decided to install a business center where guests could check email, print and scan documents, copy documents and send faxes. Guests get access to the business center computers and to the Internet by purchasing scratch cards that give 1 day of access.
- Solution:
- The business center computers are 'thin clients' and have Windows XP installed; each one is connected to our gateway router
- If the guest has changed any Windows configuration resetting the computer and it returns to normal; there is no maintenance required to correct settings or reload software
- A client's business case example:
- A hotel averaged approximately 24 guests per day who wanted to use the business center
- The hotel charged $15 per day for a scratch card giving access to the business center computers. The hotel also charged guests per page printed
- Results:
- Time to investment payback: Less than 30 days
- Profit 1st year approximately: $115,000
